DAY-BY-DAY ROUTE
The itinerary may be adjusted slightly for weather, road conditions, and guest safety. Your local guide will keep the main highlights while choosing the safest and most enjoyable route each day.
Afternoon or evening: Optional pickup is available from Hanoi Old Quarter and selected locations such as the airport, Sapa, Cat Ba, or Ninh Binh. The journey to Ha Giang takes approximately six hours, depending on the pickup point and traffic.
Arrival in Ha Giang: Check in at SkyPath Ha Giang. One pre-tour night is included. Solo travelers receive a dorm bed, or can upgrade to a private room for USD 10 per night. Guests booking for two or more receive a complimentary private-room upgrade for the entire stay, subject to availability.
7:30–8:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast at SkyPath Hostel, meet your guide and Easy Rider, and attend a safety briefing. We provide a helmet and protective knee and elbow pads before departure.
Morning: Cross Bac Sum Pass and stop at Quan Ba Heaven Gate for views of the Twin Mountains. Continue to Nam Dam, a Dao ethnic village known for its traditional rammed-earth houses, before riding through Can Ty Pass.
12:30 PM: Stop for lunch in Yen Minh.
Afternoon: Ride through Tham Ma Pass and Chin Khoanh Pass, with time for viewpoints and village stops along the way.
Around 5:30 PM: Arrive in Dong Van, check in, and enjoy dinner with the group. The evening is free to explore Dong Van Old Quarter or join the local “Happy Water” and karaoke experience.
8:30 AM: After breakfast, ride toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of Vietnam’s most spectacular mountain roads. Take a gentle walk along the Ma Pi Leng Sky Walk and enjoy panoramic views over the deep valley and Nho Que River.
Late morning: Continue through the mountain villages of Meo Vac and Mau Due, with scenic stops selected by your guide.
Lunch: Enjoy a local meal in Mau Due.
Afternoon: Experience a bamboo raft ride on the Ngoc Long River and visit Tham Lin Cave. Swimming may be possible when conditions are safe.
Around 5:00 PM: Arrive at a homestay in Du Gia, surrounded by rice fields and mountains. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner hosted by a local family and share a relaxed evening with the group.
Morning: Wake up to the peaceful rhythm of village life and enjoy breakfast with tea or coffee. Visit Du Gia Waterfall before beginning the return journey to Ha Giang City.
Late morning: Ride through Lung Ho Valley and stop in Lung Tam Village, where Hmong artisans preserve traditional hemp weaving and textile-making skills.
12:30 PM: Stop for lunch in the Thai An area after crossing the scenic Thuan Hoa Pass.
Around 3:00 PM: Arrive back at SkyPath Hostel in Ha Giang. Guests returning to Hanoi can board an optional afternoon limousine bus and usually arrive in the Old Quarter at approximately 10:00 PM.
Solo travelers receive a dorm bed; a private room is available for an additional USD 10 per night in Ha Giang, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Du Gia.
Guests booking for two or more receive a complimentary private-room upgrade for the entire stay, subject to availability.
Guests returning to Hanoi can board an optional afternoon limousine bus after arriving back in Ha Giang, but bus tickets are not included in the tour price.
