Ha Giang Loop Tour 3D2N Itinerary

The itinerary may be adjusted slightly for weather, road conditions, and guest safety. Your local guide will keep the main highlights while choosing the safest and most enjoyable route each day.

Your journey begins with a transfer to Ha Giang City before the tour starts the following morning. The drive from Hanoi takes approximately 6 hours.

3:00 PM or 8:00 PM – Pick-up
Pick-up is available from hotels in the Hanoi Old Quarter. Transfers can also be arranged from Noi Bai Airport, Sapa, Cat Ba, or Ninh Binh, depending on your travel plans.

Arrival in Ha Giang
If you take the afternoon transfer, you’ll arrive at SkyPath Hostel in Ha Giang City at around 9:00–9:15 PM. Guests taking the evening transfer will arrive later during the night or early the following morning.

A dorm bed is included before the tour starts. A private room can also be arranged for an additional charge.

Get some rest before breakfast and the start of your Ha Giang Loop adventure the next morning.

Your first day on the Ha Giang Loop takes you from Ha Giang City into the mountains, with scenic passes, viewpoints, and a visit to a traditional Dao village before reaching Dong Van.

7:30–8:30 AM – Breakfast & Tour Briefing
Start the morning with breakfast at SkyPath Hostel, then meet your Easy Rider and get ready for the journey ahead.

Before leaving, your guide will introduce the day’s route and go through a short safety briefing. You’ll also be provided with a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads for the ride.

9:00 AM – Bac Sum Pass & Quan Ba Heaven Gate
Leave Ha Giang City and begin climbing through Bac Sum Pass before reaching Quan Ba Heaven Gate.

Stop here to take in the mountain views and look across the valley toward the distinctive Quan Ba Twin Mountains.

Nam Dam Village & Can Ty Pass
Continue to Nam Dam Village, a Dao community known for its traditional rammed-earth houses and peaceful rural setting.

After visiting the village, continue across Can Ty Pass on the way toward Yen Minh.

12:30 PM – Lunch in Yen Minh
Stop in Yen Minh Town for lunch and take a short break before continuing the afternoon ride.

2:00 PM – Tham Ma Pass & Chin Khoanh Pass
After lunch, ride through Tham Ma Pass, one of the distinctive winding mountain roads on the way to Dong Van.

Continue through Chin Khoanh Pass, with changing views of limestone mountains and highland valleys as you travel farther into the Dong Van area.

5:30 PM – Dong Van
Arrive in Dong Van in the late afternoon and check in at your hotel.

After dinner, relax with the group and enjoy the evening. There may be some karaoke and a chance to try local “Happy Water”, a traditional corn-based spirit commonly shared during meals and gatherings in Ha Giang.

Day 2 combines some of the Loop’s dramatic mountain scenery with a quieter journey along the river before finishing the day in Du Gia.

8:30 AM – Ma Pi Leng Pass & Sky Walk
After breakfast in Dong Van, set off toward Ma Pi Leng Pass and take a gentle walk along the Ma Pi Leng Sky Walk.

From here, continue through the mountainous landscapes around Meo Vac and onward toward Mau Due, passing small villages along the way.

Lunch in Mau Due
Stop in Mau Due for lunch and take a break before continuing with the afternoon journey.

2:00 PM – Ngoc Long River, Ban An Stream & Tham Lin Cave
From Mau Due, continue approximately 25 km toward the Ngoc Long River area.

Board a traditional bamboo raft and enjoy a peaceful ride along the river before reaching Tham Lin Cave. Here, you’ll have time to explore the natural surroundings and, when conditions are suitable, cool off with a swim.

The route also takes you through the scenery around Ban An Stream before continuing toward Du Gia.

5:00 PM – Du Gia Village
Arrive at your homestay in Du Gia Village, surrounded by mountains, rice fields, and quiet countryside.

In the evening, sit down for a home-cooked dinner prepared by the local host family. It’s a relaxed chance to share a meal with the group and enjoy the atmosphere of Du Gia after a full day on the road.

You can also try some local “Happy Water”, the traditional corn wine often shared during dinner in Ha Giang.

The final day begins with a quiet morning in Du Gia before taking you through valleys and local villages on the journey back to Ha Giang City.

8:30 AM – Breakfast & Du Gia Waterfall
Enjoy breakfast with tea or coffee at the homestay before saying goodbye to your local hosts.

Start the day’s ride with a visit to Du Gia Waterfall, then continue through the countryside and mountain scenery around Lung Ho Valley.

Lung Tam Village
Visit Lung Tam Village, a H’Mong community particularly known for its traditional linen weaving and textile craftsmanship.

The visit offers a chance to learn more about a craft that remains an important part of local H’Mong culture.

10:30 AM – Thuan Hoa
Continue through the mountain roads around Thuan Hoa, taking in the surrounding valleys and countryside as the route heads back toward Ha Giang City.

12:30 PM – Lunch in Thai An
Stop in Thai An for lunch and a short break before completing the final section of the ride.

3:00 PM – Return to Ha Giang City
Arrive back at SkyPath Hostel in Ha Giang City at approximately 3:00 PM, marking the end of your three-day Ha Giang Loop journey.

Travelers returning to Hanoi can board the 4:00 PM limousine bus. Transfers to destinations such as Sapa, Ninh Binh, Cat Ba, or the airport can also be arranged depending on your onward travel plans.

10:00 PM – Arrival in Hanoi
Guests taking the afternoon limousine are expected to arrive in the Hanoi Old Quarter at approximately 10:00 PM.
