Ha Giang Loop Tour 4D3N Itinerary

The itinerary may be adjusted slightly for weather, road conditions and guest safety. Your local guide will keep the main highlights while choosing the safest and most enjoyable route each day.

Your Ha Giang journey begins with a transfer to Ha Giang City before the riding tour starts the following morning. The journey from Hanoi takes approximately 6 hours.

3:00 PM or 8:00 PM – Pick-up
Pick-up is available from hotels in the Hanoi Old Quarter. Transfers can also be arranged from Noi Bai Airport, Sapa, Cat Ba, or Ninh Binh, depending on your travel plans.

Arrival in Ha Giang
Guests taking the afternoon transfer will arrive at SkyPath Hostel in Ha Giang City at around 9:00–9:15 PM. If you take the evening transfer, you’ll arrive later during the night or early the following morning.

A dorm bed is included before the tour begins. If you prefer more privacy, a private room can be arranged for an additional charge.

DAY 1: HA GIANG CITY – QUAN BA HEAVEN GATE – LUNG TAM VILLAGE – NAM DAM VILLAGE – YEN MINH

Your first day on the Ha Giang Loop takes you north from Ha Giang City through mountain passes, traditional villages, and the valleys of Quan Ba before spending the night in Yen Minh.

7:30–8:30 AM – Breakfast & Tour Briefing
Start the morning with breakfast at SkyPath Hostel, then meet your Easy Rider and prepare for the journey ahead.

Before setting off, your guide will introduce the day’s route and give you a short safety briefing. A helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads will be provided for the ride.

9:00 AM – Bac Sum Pass & Quan Ba Heaven Gate
Leave Ha Giang City and begin the climb through Bac Sum Pass before reaching Quan Ba Heaven Gate.

Stop at the viewpoint to take in the surrounding mountains and valleys, including the distinctive Quan Ba Twin Mountains.

Lung Tam Village
Continue to Lung Tam Village, a H’Mong community known for its traditional linen weaving and textile craftsmanship.

The visit offers a closer look at a local craft that has been practiced and passed down through generations in the community.

12:00 PM – Lunch in Quan Ba
Stop in Quan Ba Town for lunch and take a short break before continuing the afternoon journey.

1:30 PM – Nam Dam Village
Visit Nam Dam Village, home to a Dao community and known for its traditional rammed-earth houses.

Take some time to walk around the village and experience the quieter side of life in the northern highlands.

3:00 PM – Can Ty Pass
Continue across Can Ty Pass toward Yen Minh. Along the way, there are several opportunities to stop and enjoy the mountain and valley views.

5:00 PM – Yen Minh
Arrive at your homestay in Yen Minh in the late afternoon.

After checking in, relax after the day’s ride and enjoy the evening with the group. Depending on the accommodation and conditions, you can enjoy the swimming pool, karaoke, and a taste of local “Happy Water.”

Day 2 takes you farther into the Dong Van Karst Plateau, combining winding mountain roads with traditional villages and landscapes close to Vietnam’s northern border.

8:30 AM – Tham Ma Pass, Chin Khoanh Pass & Lao Xa Village
After breakfast in Yen Minh, begin the day’s ride through Tham Ma Pass and Chin Khoanh Pass.

Continue to Lao Xa Village, a small highland community surrounded by the rocky mountain scenery typical of this part of Ha Giang.

Lo Lo Chai, Then Pa & the Border Area
Continue toward Lo Lo Chai Village and Then Pa Village in the Lung Cu area.

As you travel through this northern part of Ha Giang, you’ll also have the opportunity to see the mountainous border area between Vietnam and China.

12:15 PM – Lunch in Lung Cu
Stop in Lung Cu for lunch and take a short break before continuing the afternoon journey.

1:30 PM – Ma Pi Leng Pass
Continue toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most impressive mountain roads on the Ha Giang Loop.

Stop along the pass to take in the dramatic limestone peaks and views of the Nho Que River winding through the valley far below.

5:00 PM – Dong Van Town
Arrive in Dong Van Town in the late afternoon and check in at your hotel.

In the evening, take some time to explore Dong Van Old Quarter, where old houses, cafés, restaurants, and the relaxed mountain-town atmosphere make for an enjoyable end to the day.

The third day combines the high mountain landscapes around Dong Van and Meo Vac with a quieter river experience before finishing the day in Du Gia.

8:40 AM – Ma Pi Leng Sky Walk & Meo Vac
After breakfast in Dong Van, head back toward the Ma Pi Leng Pass area and take a gentle walk along the Ma Pi Leng Sky Walk.

Continue through Meo Vac and onward toward Mau Due, passing mountain scenery and small villages along the way.

Lunch in Mau Due
Stop in Mau Due for lunch and take a break before continuing the afternoon journey.

2:00 PM – Ngoc Long River, Ban An Stream & Tham Lin Cave
From Mau Due, continue approximately 25 km toward the Ngoc Long River area.

Board a traditional bamboo raft and enjoy a peaceful ride along the river before reaching Tham Lin Cave. You’ll have time to explore the natural surroundings and, when conditions are suitable, enjoy a swim.

The route also takes you through the scenery around Ban An Stream before continuing toward Du Gia.

5:00 PM – Du Gia Village
Arrive at your homestay in Du Gia Village, surrounded by mountains, rice fields, and peaceful countryside.

In the evening, enjoy a home-cooked dinner prepared by the local host family and spend some time relaxing with the group and other travelers.

You can also try local “Happy Water”, a traditional corn wine often shared during meals and gatherings in Ha Giang.

DAY 4: DU GIA – DU GIA WATERFALL – LUNG HO VALLEY – THUAN HOA – HA GIANG CITY

Your final day begins with a peaceful morning in Du Gia before the journey takes you through valleys and mountain roads back to Ha Giang City.

8:30 AM – Breakfast & Du Gia Waterfall
Enjoy breakfast with tea or coffee at the homestay and say goodbye to your local hosts.

Start the day’s ride with a visit to Du Gia Waterfall before continuing through the countryside and mountain scenery around Lung Ho Valley.

10:30 AM – Thuan Hoa
Continue through the mountain roads around Thuan Hoa, with views across the surrounding valleys and countryside as you make your way back toward Ha Giang City.

12:30 PM – Lunch in Thai An
Stop in Thai An for lunch and a short break before completing the final section of the journey.

3:00 PM – Return to Ha Giang City
Arrive back at SkyPath Hostel in Ha Giang City at approximately 3:00 PM, marking the end of your four-day Ha Giang Loop adventure.

Travelers returning to Hanoi can board the 4:00 PM limousine bus. Transfers to destinations such as Sapa, Ninh Binh, Cat Ba, or the airport can also be arranged depending on your onward travel plans.
